After two weeks of banging my head against the wall, and many trips to AutoZone to have alternators and batteries checked, I found my problem.
I borrowed a voltmeter, and went testing power cables and ground cables and the wires that go into the alternator. I had previously replaced the battery, terminals, and the alternator(all proved to be bad). Problem was still there.
Replaced a Fusible link right next to the battery. Still won't charge itself. Started tracing the wires that go to the alternator. Hmmm, I have 12.7 volts at the battery, but only 5 volts at the alternator. I traced the black power cable that goes into the alt. back to the Power dist.(power & ground cables go into it..don't know the name of it) box on the left side fenderwell. Now, i have the full 12.7 volts BEFORE the fusible link.
GOTCHA!!! Cut out the bad Fusible links, and spliced in some from the '91 parts car. All set!
So, anyone that has a charging problem that they can't fix(with new battery or alt), check all of the fusible links!
