Took the car to the strip finally. 90 and humid then it cooled to a nice 80 degrees. Street tires. The z ran great and no problems.

Ran 6 times or so. Bunch of mid high 12 learning to launch then my last too runs were my best. 12.52@116.

Best time 12.39@117. 2.0 60'

Car has 11s in it the way it sits. Not bad for my first time with rwd. Not really big interest with drag racing but I kinda wanna go again soon to practice my launch and crack a 11.9 on street tires. Cooler weather I bet I could trap 120. Gained 2 mph after the 90 heat and sun went down and 80 runs at night.

Congrats! I had an 02 zo6 with similar mods to yours and I only tried 3 times on the strip but all I determined was that the car is very hard to launch on street tires. I never pulled off 11's. Got close but no go. Oh well. Your trap speed looks great.

I was getting the launch down after the first 3 runs. Had a hiccup the 4 run and the next 2 felt good. Last 2 were 2.0. If I pulled a nice 1.9 I feel that would do it. And if 2nd didn't spin so much.

It's easy compared to a sho with the almost the same hp :nut:

Zach I'm sure u won't be the only one. I've wanted 12s forever. I will get around to it in a sho eventually.

Wow, you're almost as fast as my dune buggy, and she only weighs 2200 pounds. Great runs. Get those 60's down and you will be in the 11's.

Good job Justin! Looks like you probably would have beat my old turbo sho after all. Although I did put down the same 60ft :)

Cant wait to see how close my rx7 will be to yours.

Sounds like my V. I have the same traction and driver mod issues...

The C5Z got several revs of shocks, the last year 04's really being the best for everything (they ride best on the street, and they work better for road racing and launch the best at the strip). A worthwhile update if you are trying to get the car to hook up a bit better.
