So.... i decided after reading all the turbo posts on here, i have a few questions.

car has had 60/120k, full maint, rebuilt trans w/shift kit, extra trans cooler, so all that is maintained. just want a bit more power.

what i am looking for is like 6psi or so. target of 250 wheel or a lil more. have a 155lph fuel pump, 80mm maf, will either be going superchip with a local tuner on a dyno, or tweecer. many superchip tuners locally know do turbo fords.

also for turbo of this low of boost and hp.. i can get an audi a4 k03 turbo with no shaft play for a low price locally, but will that be too small? i'm still slightly confused on reading the turbo mapping.

it is mainly a roadcourse car, but also summer cruiser like 1300 on street, and 2000 on highway. but i dont want to **** the trans, so building boost at higher rpms would almost be better, but still not too much power. like i want power mainly at 3000rpm to 7200rpm. or do i not need to worry about trans issues at speed in 2nd and 3rd gears as much at launch, which i dont do much?

also, with f/i, what kind of plugs do i go with, do i go a few degrees cooler in an NGK? currently running oe spec motorcraft.

No way on the k03 , way to small .
Get at least a 190lph pump .
Don't mess with the superchip . Get a tweecer or quarterhorse .
Plugs copper autolite 3923's .

Turobonetics 60-1 hifi. Or a full size 60-1. Or a larger t3/t4 hybrid

Fuel go with 255, fpr, and 48#,ers. Never cheap out out fuel mods.

Plugs copper autolites or autolite racing ar3910 or 11.

That turbo is way too small to make 250 on this engine. You are on the right path with everything else though. I'd go mail order chip if you cannot use the twEECer as it is not simple. My car has sat for 3 months because I have not been able to figure out some simple stuff.
PS: A roadcourse car would be better as an all motor car as opposed to a turbocharged car. You can bolt on your 250HP with less issues as opposed to fabbing up/spending the money on a turbocharged setup.

Yep,big no on that turbo,K03's are garbage anyway.
my 60-1 is just about perfect for the SHO .73ar hot side .70 cold side
155 pump is fine for low boost but get the SHOnut FPR and some sort of aftermarket injectors at least 32lb.
autolite copper 3923 is what I use for plugs.

^ We'll make sure we get pics done.

Also, a 155 fuel pump and 30lb injectors should be good for 7-8 psi. Your gonna make more than 250 whp on 6 psi. If tuning is right and the motor is running good you could see closer to 260+ whp on 6 psi.

There is honestly gonna be no point in first gear. I assume you have a stock tq converter which means you could launch at max, 2,200 rpm's. Road course is gonna stress your trans a lot more than say a drag strip. That is where it is critical to monitor your trans temp.

Also, you say you have a rebuilt trans then there are a coupe of things which will help fluid flow and prolong life of the trans. The most important thing is ditching the stock lines and running custom lines to and from the cooler; not through the radiator. You don't need two coolers, just one big one with a temp gauge and a fan if you wish. A good suggestion would be to heat wrap your manifolds. If your boosting it you will have issues with the VSS seeing a lot of heat which will shorten and end the life of your VSS very quickly. You could wrap a heat blanket on the top of your trans where the VSS harness runs under the manifold, heat wrap your VSS heat shield somehow and get a heat protectant wire loom for the harness to really prevent any issues.

keep in mind if you are boosting a automatic you can run a turbo larger than the MTX guys because your converter lets you get into the higher revs better along with longer gears keeping the load higher on the engine. Those things help spoolup. I am assuming a budget build. It just opens your options up for used turbos. get on the supra forums and buy up a used stocker from someone that is upgrading.

I think 2 Garrett gt20 turbos would be the easiest. Take the car to a performance shop that does exhaust manifolds. Give them the turbos and they can make you an equal length exhaust manifold for both sides of the engine. Also ask them to run the oil and coolant lines to the turbo. I think a small air to air intercooler from ETS will work, just give them a call and tell them the dimensions you want. I think a 20 inch long, 3-4 inch wide, about 6-7 inches tall, and 3 inch pipe should do. For the rest of the plumbing take it to an exhaust shop they can do the rest. On the blow off valve if you want one that will work a greddy will be perfect if you want to be noticed a turbo smart supersonic BOV is what the doc ordered. I would place the BOV right after the intercooler. For a boost controller an Apexi or AEM True Boost would be the best. I like the AEM because it can be placed in a gauge pod.

Also make sure you have the tune and fuel right.

Turbos
Intercooler
Gready BOV
Turbo Smart BOV
APEXi Boost controller
AEM TrueBoost
