I wanted to start getting some opinions on a possible GLSS (or whoever wants to come) track event at Springport Motor Speedway outside of Jackson Michigan. I know the people who have taken the track over and was thinking it would be cool to rent the track and have an event. Of course, cost will be determined on how many people come... this means, if you set up a reservation that you're coming, you must be there. The more people, the less expensive it will be. This is a large 3/8th mile paved track that I think would be cool to compare lap times and then an auto-x could also be set up on track. I just want to get feelers going months in advance. I would be looking towards a weekend in late April... may even have to be a Sunday. I think it would be a cool event but our attendance level lately is not the best.

We might as well re-name the club to Indiana SHO Society as those folks seem to be the most ******** as of late. I know the attendance level was low for Frankenmuth (myself included... perks of being the boss is you have to be there all the time) and we had a whopping 3 people come to my Summer meet when we invaded Beth.

I think the time is now for a cool track day to really test the performance on our machines. LET"S DO IT!

That's a bit to far for me to drive. Come on down to Mid Ohio. That would be closer to me. I live in Columbus, OH.

I'd be game. Always looking for a reason to hear the yamaha rev. Of course it would depend on the cost.

Mid-ohio would be super cool... I would have to assume cost would be much higher. Springport is a good 4.5 to 5 hours from you.

Back in Michigan ... again.
Would drifting be allowed at this track? :naughty: Kinda not kidding there either.

Also interested; I'm definitely doing something track related with the Mustang before selling. I was thinking of GingerMan but if the cost isn't too bad, this might a better gig.

Actually, listed in suggested uses for track rental is drifting!

My interest in piqued. Don't have any good track tires though.... I've been thinking lately that it would be nice to use my 89 as intended, because it doesn't get out much... Maybe an excuse to get it out early from storage to do a few more suspension/brake things....

If you go to Gingerman, let me know. I am wanting to take the SHO up there this coming summer. I was thinking of taking one of their open track driving schools since I've never done it before and their website says you have to have some experience for any of their test and tune times.

Somehow I just saw this thread. I would be interested as well, more towards the Auto-X as ovals are not my cup of tea, but I'm willing to try it.

I might be interested in Gingerman on Memorial Day too.
