Failed Ontario emissions test

Evening all...failed the Ontario emissions test yesterday on my 95mtx...i thought it's been running like a champ since I replaced both o2 sensors with Bosch..CEL out and mileage back up to over 600k a tank..HC and CO2 levels way low, but NOx 977..435 allowed...now...I've read all the posts on pulling the SPOUT prior to test..will this drop my NOx level in half..???..going to change oil with high mileage tomorrow along with a new air filter..read it wouldn't hurt..nothing really to do with the high combustion temps...any other thoughts as to what else I may do to get passed...60k was done a few years back, but now have just over 200 kilometers on her...running like a champ other than needing a brake job....???

Do you have an aftermarket MAF? If so swap to stock for emissions, or so i've read here to do that.

All stock...seems all have a problem passing without an EGR system unless she's in tip-top shape..just thinking about registering it at my northern Ontario's parents place were no emissions checks are done...an easy out untill the goverment brings them under the guidelines...

If you cannot get it to pass I might be able to help you out, although I am quite far away in Mississauga...

FWIW my green lightly modded MTX passed the E Test 2 years ago very easily.

Pulling the spout should help you out, there is a thread in the "how do I" section on where its located. You could also use the norther exemption, no more e tests for at least a while. I am far enough north I do not need them and I love it that way.
