Best Buy should have sold you the Metra 70-5511 (Integrator Harness), or I believe the 70-5514 (Eliminator Harness, prefered if you don't have a factory sub)

I got my harness from a different palce but you might need to bend the ends in the harness for it to fit. Thats what I did...

This is why I don't shop for car audio at Best Buy anymore. Ultimate Electronics is the retail chain of choice for me.

To be honest in the dozens or so deck installs I've done in a Taurus/Sable with premium sound I've never once worked any further to see if there is a non-premium plug somewhere down the line. I wouldn't think any of the cars that use the square speaker plug would. The ****** premium sound is more along the lines of what you're talking about, but the give away to that system is that there are missing wires from the speaker plug. If you trace that harness back into the dash you'll find the 1770 clipped up to the frame of the dash.

Yeah, but I said retail chain. Crutchfield doesn't exactly have a store down the block from me. :D

My brother-in-law works in car audio at BestBuy in Traverse City, MI and I had them hook up my radio cause I have the slave CD player and it was driving me nuts. I payed $4.17 for my harness and installation was only $26.00. Works fine and I have always been with BestBuy. Sorry if you had problems but don't let one instance stop you especialy if you get a discount. :D

IF you get a discount. Otherwise, I tend to find prices at a fraction of best buy's price. Although it's nice to walk in there and figure out what i'd like to order online... at a fraction of the price. :p

As far as their audio WORK... I dunno, haven't done that but being in the automotive industry along with knowing many electronics guys, it's inevitable to realize how many people aren't well suited for the tasks they face. All you can do is ask them nicely to fix it. If that doesn't work THEN you can have your grief with them!
