But you can get what you want done at just about any speed shop. For what the speed shops will charge you though, extrude honing is a bargain. What are you trying to hone?

Exhaust manifolds. I had planned to have them honed and then HPC'd for the turbo project. I did get some feedback about someone who has honed thier manifolds and it turned out to be a waist of time(?) Apparently the stock cast flows rather well :oogle: As mentioned above, "exrudehone.com" seems to be the "only" place in the US that can do this  I sort of doubt that but can't say for sure.

As I mentioned in another thread, Extrude Hone is the only company that extrude hones. That's sort of like asking "what restaurant chain serves McDonald's french fries?" (McDonald's by the way :) )

If you want to have them ported, you can shop around but EH is a good deal and gets the job done correctly.

That said, I don't think I'd need to have the exhaust manifolds done. If you get them ceramic coated by Jet Hot or Swaintech, the insides will be smoothed out fairly nicely.

I stand corrected. I thought "extrude honing" was simply the name of the process. I thought there where many places that where able to do it. Maybe I'll do a bit more research :)

It is the name of a process, but it's also the name of the main outfit that does it and that invented and patented the process.

The Extrude Hone company sells equipment to do the EH process, so it's a given that other places can do it. Finding somebody with the equipment and the expertise is tricky, though. Since the Extrude Hone company still does contract service work competitively, a lot of people just wind up sending their stuff directly to them.

You wont need the porting on the exhaust manifolds, just ceramic coat the inside and outside and any other pipe leading to the turbo. Need to keep that expanded gas expanded. The output from the turbo might also need coating since it will be in a cramped enging compartment that is not known for good airflow.

Yeah, pretty much everything is going to be coated including the intake and possibly the front valve cover. It's nice that Jet Hot is here in phoenix! I'm still waiting for the tubocharger to begin the initial mockup.

Where are you getting the turbo? I know the guy in Phoenix that is the second largest distributor of Garret turbos.

I think you should talk to Scott of Turbos Direct first. He'll ask what you want to achieve and then go from there.
