Yesterday evening, my car developed a noisy exhaust. Upon further inspection, I decided to remove the donut gasket at the end of the Y-pipe. That thing was trashed beyond reason. Went to Ford and they said it was discontinued and the closest one is in the middle of Missouri and could be here tomorrow. I decided to go down to NAPA and they took some measurements and found a replacement generic gasket that fit the bill perfectly. However, the exhaust is still noisy. I got under the car with the engine on and found the noise to be loudest at the rear header where the Y-pipe connects to it. I did a quick search and found a post that said there is no gasket in this location. Is this true?
Also... Just so I dont have to keep getting in and out of the underside of the car... What size bolts are used to connect the headers with the y-pipe? Looks like a 10 or 12mm.

. And don't ask me why I have a tap and extra bolt that size either.
