I recently replaced the right timing chain tensioner,(the side next to firewall),when I was changing plugs and seals. When I took the cam gears off I tied them on with fishing line, but I think when I put the gears back on they were off.I triple checked all connections for the intake manifold, firing order is on, but the car just cranks and it doesn't try to kick over at all. I have spark and fuel, when I crank the engine sometimes I hear a pop (not loud), but I think it's coming from the intake. Do I have to get to the timing belt or can I just adjust with the valve covers off. If I can I don't know how, thanks in advance.

I think I just screwed up the exhaust cam gear. One other question the new tensioner didn't have hardly any resistance when compressed.
