OK, so I am at Wendys, and am sitting there with the interior lights on, and the car running and all the lights in my car were kind of flashing, but not going completely off, just dimming, it has done this a few times before, but not all the time. It also stopps when I get driving up to speed..

BTW: I do not have a system, and it doesn't dim to the radio

What could be wrong?

Get a multimeter and check your charging system to see how much voltage your alternator is putting out. This should give you an idea.

I've got a 92mtx that's doing the same thing. I brought it to a friend who checked altenator output, it's most definitely the alternator needing a teardown/rebuild... brushes, diodes, etc... either that or a new altenator. At idle your battery is doing most of the work, when you start moving the altenator gives out more power since it's spinning faster. (obviously

) I've got 102k on mine and my friend was saying it's a typical time to see brush failure, or rather un optimized alternator output due to brush wear. I hope this helps

Hmmm. I just had my brushes replaced about 2 months ago...What else could this be, maybe just another thing in the alternator?

On my old sho it was the sensor for the auto lamps..it kept thinking it was night out and cutting my lights on and off..which casued the climate control etc to dim and get bright...i didn't realize what was happening till a friend followed me and told me.

Just a thought

Remove, clean and reinstall the terminals on the battery posts. Sounds like you don't have a good connection to your battery. If the alternator weren't charging, you would be seeing the ALT light.

Just for the record, I'm still on my original alternator with the original brushes. Anybody know where to get the brushes for the 90A Mitsubishi alternator on the 1991 SHO? I've tried three different sources and they've all supplied the incorrect brushes.
