Hi all - I'm new to this forum and have a problem. My '95 MTX lost the timing belt tensioner. The bolt broke off in the block. The loose tensioner pully tore out the middle cover. My question is, does anyone know where to get a replacement bolt (or was it a stud)? Would any metric grade 8 bolt work? How long should it be? I'm hoping to reuse the pully - seems to be o.k. The tough part will be getting a new timing belt cover. Any ideas? I can't wait to start drilling the old bolt out of the block. I just know that's going to be really fun.
Thanks!

It's a stud and not a fully threaded one. If you need one, I have a few extra or you can try your dealership. Here's the part number: E9DZ-6K289-A

It would be wise to replace the tensioner at this point and the fact that a new Dayco runs around $55 from an autostore.

As for the timing cover, you can post in the want to buy section.

Thanks Darrent. I did check with my ford dealer but they basically laughed at me. Discontinued part. I'll post a part wanted msg. How do I get a stud from you?

Popping this into the thread for my own curiosity...

Is the ATX tensioner stud the same as the MTX stud? I know the threads are the same...

And you're not dead! What a relief! I was starting to wonder.:woohoo:

Tom

That would be scary!

By the way, the MTX is 3-3/4" long for someone who wants to compare.
