I’m almost finished installing EPP hot pipes and their dual CAI system. Question -

How is the IAT sensor supposed to work with the filter? The filter has the small rubber tube sticking out from the heat shield, and I can only get the IAT sensor to fit into that about half of the way. So I don’t really understand how it’s #1) going to work properly and #2) stay put. It’s simply going to fall out.

Every picture I’ve been able to find aren’t clear enough when I zoom in on that part for me to see what is being done.

Yeah the opening in the filter isn’t big enough. I shaved down the plastic tabs on the sensor and and shoved it in as far as would go and called it good. Hasn’t come out or given me any problems. B02D0395 8B2F 4637 896A CFE975EC513E

I cut the rubber down a bit a opened the hole up a bit so it will sit in further.

I pushed it as far as it would go by hand and then used a crescent wrench to twist and push it in the rest of the way. It's a very tight fit but it doesn't move at all.

Thanks, all! I'm heading out there now to give it a go. I'll keep you posted. This will be the end of my SHO build project, so I'm very excited to get this done and go for a test drive. I'll post up everything when it's all buttoned up and good to go.

Done and done! Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I did slice a little off the end of the rubber tube, and also removed the O-ring from the IAT sensor, along with snipping off the locking tab. Yeah, it’s definitely not coming out now.

It’s been a long time coming, but my build out is complete. She’s running STRONG, and I hope to get many more years out of her. Now I just have to keep up on a very regimented maintenance schedule. That seems to be the key for this platform.

I realize this is an older post and problem is solved but just in case someone else is looking I used WD-40 and shoved it all the way in. You can’t even see the O-ring and it’s there. Taking it out requires extra twisting motion though lol.

It’s just a temp sensor not a MAF so it doesn’t really need to be all the way in as long as it’s sealed. I don’t even know why it exists as our car relies on IAT from the MAP sensor for performance.
