Hey all,

New member here. 2015 Non-PP SHO that I use as my daily driver. I've owned for ~18 months now. I just installed the EPP Intake and have a few questions based of what I've noticed.

1.) This mod seems to have exacerbated the Electronic Throttle Body problem with "numbness" or lack of response at certain pedal positions, usually at very low / light throttle. Anyone else notice this? Is this normal / will this be corrected by a tune? (Looking at GH in the near future).

2.) All of my fitments look and feel very snug and I was sure to tighten down the T-clamps significantly but I had some issues with the rear turbo (go figure). The rubber tubing is fitted over the "lip" of the turbo and one side is pressed flush against the turbocharger itself. The other side of the tubing is showing <1/16th of an inch of that turbo "lip". Is this going to cause problems later on? Car seems to run fine but I'm worried about having it come loose or blow off going down the road under a hard pull.

3.) I'm very ignorant to this platform and consider myself an extremely amateur mechanic is there anything I should know (other than regular maintenance schedules, PTU fluid intervals, etc.) to get my car ready for a tune? This car will (likely) never hit the track, just a fun daily driver.

Glad to be a part of the community and looking forward to feedback!

If the silicone coupler is over the flared end of the turbo and your clamp is over the silicone and after the flare that’s all that matters. So it’s slightly angled, one side you see 1/16” reveal away from the compressor? That’s fine.

The intake shouldn’t give you more dead pedal feel it should remain the same, if anything marginally better response as it allows more air to the turbo faster and more efficiently. I’d lean more towards the fact that these cars are either economy or boost. Can’t have both at the same time. If it was dead pedal at half throttle-wide open throttle then that would be an issue and likely a boost leak from the newest addition of upgrades being the intake. One thing to look out for is you’ve got the wrong size clamp on if when tightened both ends touch…bc that means it’s just maxed out not necessarily tight enough.

What @802SHO said is sound advice. What little I might add is that you are not tuned for performance yet. A cold air intake doesn't really require a tune. Adding the cold air intake might improve flow beyond what your stock would but that doesn't necessarily lead to improving performance either. If you are looking for an improvement in driving experience I would recommend that you get a tune. It will change the way the car performs dramatically! Also try running 93 octane if you aren't already. The stock tune(strategy) will accommodate and it may help to even things out a bit until you have a tune.

I appreciate the responses, definitely adds some peace of mind to the whole process. I've really enjoyed this car so the last thing I want to do is break it. I've got it scheduled to get the rear tie rod ends replaced and once it gets that done I'm going to get the tuning process started.

After a couple days of driving it with the new intake I've noticed that at low / light throttle (pedal depressed maybe 5-10% down) it doesn't shift down to generate power like it did before I added the intake, instead it stays in the gear it was in and slowly climbs up in rev's. It's not accelerating any slower, just lightly pulling without the shift that I'm used to. I've also noticed that the car will increase speed more easily without increasing significantly in the rev range. To me, this seems like a good thing, but I don't know if it might be indicative of a small vacuum leak?

Probably overthinking things, but this platform is right at the edge of my comfort zone. Can you guys tell I'm paranoid lol?
