Hey Everyone, 2015 non-pp SHO.

I installed the noisemaker delete and CAI from EPP about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Since then I have been chasing down intermittent (what I assume to be) boost leaks / vacuum leaks. In that time I have re-installed both kits and made sure that all of my fittings were tight, the tubes were as far into the fittings as they could go, and everything is snug as it can be.

I've been running into what feels like boost leak, but only at very low throttle. There's a slight lack of power lower in the range but if the transmission shifts down, the engine seems to compensate and make up for whatever is being lost (I assume). I've been checking the hot side of things and everything feels snug and where it should be. There is a slight hissing at idle but I'm pretty sure what I'm hearing is the sound of air traveling through the brake booster lines, as that's where the sound seems to be coming from. There's no check engine light or anything like that, just feelings and noises to go off of.

Has anyone ran into anything similar? Any Tips on how to locate a leak if there is one? Anyone have any other ideas as to what it might be?

Thanks!

Well time to look over the hoses and connections to all of your pipes, even better if you can get connected to Forscan and check the errors the computer is catching. If you are using a tuner - start logging. The plastic charge pipes can crack - the rubber hoses can split - start checking visually. I also promote the safe use of one drop of dish soap/mix with water in a spray bottle - wet down the hoses and tubes and startup the engine looking for bubbles.

No check engine light so I’m not sure if there would be any codes or errors that would show up.

Does the engine bay need to be cold for the soap and water to work? Starting to wonder if it’s any of the remaining plastic “hot pipes” that may have cracked as they all seem pretty tight.

I’ve seen a lot of people say a boost leak would only occur on the hot side of things, is that accurate? I feel like if any of the couplers were loose it would still cause problems but I also don’t know what I’m talking about.

Anyone know what this is on the top of the transmission and if those two pieces being misaligned would be causing me any problems?

Also, there is a rubber hose that has a 90 degree bend right before (what I assume to be) the waste gate in the rear turbo charger. There is a small gap between the end of the rubber hose and that 90 degree fitting. Is that gap supposed to be there or could that be the culprit? I couldn’t get a pic of it but I’ll try again later.

Update: Got some pics of the hose in question. You can see in the second one there is a piece of whitish plastic which makes me wonder if the gap is supposed to be there or if maybe that is to keep that gap from forming in the first place?

Check those three little hoses on top of the engine. One or two cone from the factory without clamps. I've blown those off. The other day I blew one of the metal lines out of the intake manifold. I definitely have a higher volume of air with the 41mm twins and intercooler.

This is the cleanest hall sensor and negative battery cable I’ve seen in my life. You can even see the colors vividly lol.

Happy to impress in some domain.

FWIW I ended up figuring out where the problem was after installing the hot pipes. There is a rubber hose that plugs into the top of the transmission and that had come loose enough to cause a leak without blowing right off. I cleaned that off and sured it over its port with a zip tie and haven't had any big problems since then.

The transmission feels weak but at this point I think I'm in my own head (SHO is the newest, and most expensive car I've ever owned) after reading about transmission and PTU failures. Plan on grabbing a tune from Gearhead here soon and seeing if I can get to 150k miles without blowing something up too bad
