Hello all, I'm new to this forum and I recently bought a 92 SHO mtx. Anyway, I was on the way home with it when it just died on me in 5th gear. It ran perfectly fine for the 2 1/2 hour drive home, and it still has more than a half tank of gas in it. This is whats going on: I just put a new fuel filter in it, the fuel pump is practically brand new and I can hear it when I turn the key on, the tach moves when I crank it, and the engine has spark. Any suggestions? Thanx.

Best place to start is to run your codes. Go to the home page, very bottom, click on SHOPP link. Great write up on it. Its in the maintenance section.

Pulled em

I just pulled the codes from the car and got code 114 and 116. 111 in the memory. These are the only ones the code reader spit out. What do these mean?

114 is the ACT air charge temp..
116 is the ECT.. this is because the car wasnt at operating temp.
and 111 is sytem checks out ok...

check all your grounds.. the main one on the passenger firewall side... it comes from the back of the intake manifold....

are you sure your getting all three? air spark, fuel? how did you confirm?

make sure the filter is not clogged... you may have something in the air box...

the main ground is passenger side firewall... right next to the hood strut... it runs to the back of the intake manifold, onto a stud right at the corner....

have you tried starting the car agian?

The air box has a brand new filter in it and it seems to be perfectly fine. I checked all the grounds that I could see and they are all secure. What now?
