engine will not run with spout connected

Hey Guys I am having a problem.... My car will not run with the spout connector in? I pull it out and it starts right up. I put it in while its running and it kills the motor. I put it in when its sat over night and it wont start but as soon as I pull it out it bam it starts....


Any help would be great!!!!

My guess would be the cam sensor. Might be a bit off on this; but if you pull the SPOUT your timing is ******** ~20 degrees, cam sensor is bypassed and the crank sensor is used to fire cylinders at TDC.

unplug the cam sensor and see if it runs better. If so, that's your problem. Its located on the passenger side of the engine bay towards the firewall ~Will

Loss of a valid SPOUT signal causes the DIS Module to automatically turn the ignition coils on and off using the PIP signal. This results in a fixed spark timing and dwell (10 degrees BTDC).

My guess would be either a problem with the SPOUT circuit, or a bad DIS.

On my current white 94 project, I was getting a code for 'spout circuit disconnected' even though the connector was on. Turned out to be a bad dis.
