I just noticed this yesterday but there is a rattling noise coming for the top to passenger side of the motor while it revs between 1400rpm-1700rpm, this happens whether it is in drive, neutral or parked. The car idles smooth and runs fine with no uneveness or hesitation but the noise occurs during within that RPM range. It is more prevalent at 1600rpm when you keep the foot there but the noise goes away below or above that range. Any help or pointers would sure be great. Thanks guys!!!!

Thanks guys! I will be removing the upper timing cover this weekend to check for belt slack. Thank goodness I have a spare tensioner housing, I might just rig it to the manual adjustment route. NO MORE HYDRAULIC FOR ME.

Yeah, that factory hydraulic piece of crap has some nerve only lasting almost 20 years!

I was mad a few months back when I thought my ORIGINAL starter went out..........

Turns out it was the cables and the damn starter is STILL KICKING.

It's amazing how we get mad at these cars. We need to remember they're getting old as snot!

Agreed. The age is a factor but it just happened to go bad on my watch. I'm not too upset, I've been restoring my '95 ATX little by little since I bought it in '06. It's been a challenge. Hopefully this manual tensioner will last the remaining life of the vehicle.
