So in summary it appears that;
- a significant failure has a low probability assuming a reputable tuner is involved and strict maintenance is adhered to
- should a significant failure occurs it is far from certain there would be an investigation and even if there was the warranty may not be denied depending on the results of the depth of the investigation
- you have to be able to afford the consequences if the warranty is voided and that could be in excess of $5k . If you can't afford it then don't tune
Therefore, it becomes a question do you want to drive a sub-performing car for the initial 5 years or risk a ~$5k loss?
