engine knock after refresh

i have a 95 3.2 atx sho parts car no knocking at idle or while revving before refresh, car ran great good compression between 194 and 197 dry, replaced timing belt, cam seals, swapped in 3.0 cams, used 3.0 valve covers, used 3.0 intake, now loud knocking on startup any ideas?

Did you replace/check the cam shims? Did you re-tension the timing belt? Are you sure the intake is fully sealed/tightened?

retensioned timing belt yes intake bolted down yes i checked four shims but ill be adjusting the valve lash now

you swapped cams without shimming the new ones? And the new cams have more lift?

Hope you didn't destroy the engine.

As long as the engine is in time, it's unlikely anything destructive has occurred.

That said, the lions share of your valve gaps are probably out of spec and should be adjusted.
