Anyone ever have this done? I saw this offered at my friendly Ford dealer's service department and wondered if anyone here ever tried this on the SHO motor. I must admit that I have not always used Castrol GTX (I always do nowadays) so I have no idea how dirty my engine is.

I can't imagine that any fluid in the crankcase that reduces the lubrication of the oil would be good for the engine. Just keep using the Castrol and the detergents in the oil will help clean your engine over time.

I don't think it's an oil additive. They drain the oil then hook the engine up to some sort of vacuum and cycle a detergent through the engine. Then everything gets sucked out. The final step is fresh oil and filter. But I think I will take your advice (and save $100+ in the process) and just let the Castrol do it's thing. Thanks!
