Engine Elec Ground Question

Gents, and Ladies,

I have a 94 ATX. I noticed the other day while cleaning under the hood that the ground that bolts to the firewall under that copper thing that touches the hood....isn't attached anywhere else!!

Any ideas where this is supposed to be attached? Thanks in advance.

Umm....When you close the hood it contacts the metal strip, grounding out the hood.

Is that a flat ground strap with a terminal on the end?

If it is, then it connects to the rear bolt on the passenger side that attaches the bracket to the intake tank. It's a bolt with threaded stud that screws thru the bracket into the tank (it's the aluminum bracket about 6" long that bolts to the rear head and goes up to secure the intake plenum tank). There should be a nut on the stud that holds the ground wire. I looked at my 93atx and they are probably the same.

The only other wire I have attached under the copper bracket is one that disappears into the wiring harness.
