Hi, I'm new here and to shos. I'm looking at a 92 sho that has had a replacement motor installed, now the guy says it runs fine just bogs when you give it gas. Just wondering what things would be good to look at first to diagnos this problem?. Thanks In advance, Herb. (soon to be sho owner)

Well Herb, the first thing you should do is make sure the secondaries are closing when the engine is turned on. They open when the engine is turned off. You'll see them move on the intake, connected to the 6 shorter intake runners. This will cause engine bogging to a certain extent in the lower rpm ranges. If it just so happens this is the problem, then look what's mounted on the back side of the intake by the firewall, the secondary control actuator. One vaccum line plugs into it and one electrical plug and it controls the secondaries. Follow the vaccum lines to make sure all is plugged in.
Hope that helps.

Ok, here's an update. The car will start right up, and idle. But if you try to give it any gas, it just bogs out. You have to feather the gas to get it to rev. Gonna get a better look at everything this weekend when we bring it home. Thanks, Herb.
