I have a 2010 SHO that has been nothing but a nighmare. The engine is pure junk. Needed a complete long block at 34K. Two sets of brakes, makes noise from the back end and it truly hasnt been driven hard. Anybody else had engine issues?

That's terrible to hear. But what were your symptoms? Were you the original owner? Did it over heat ever? Would love to know more. And who is your servicing dealer? You in Sputhern California? Thanks.

There a guys that have had problems, and if you look at the TSB's that are posted below, you can see some of the problems that Ford acknowledges. There have been plugs that have had the ceramics crack, leaking turbos, brake Problem TSB.

Bob, doesn't seem as though he was tuned.

Take his post with a grain of salt.....

Especially with it being his 1st and only post.

Comments like "the engine is pure junk" is suspicious at best.

With several thousand owners who haven't had any issues, or issues that were / are minimal (and taken care of under TSB), whether stock, or modified (to w/e extant) all of you would agree, this noob is in the minority.

Minus any additional details, I'll reserve any additional comment.

IMNSHO, I'll bet that EVERY car made has had an issue with EVERY part of the car at some point.

Not to diminish his pain if he truly lost an engine, but there is a first time for EVERYTHING.

Just like the V8 SHO cam issues. We didn't start recognizing the issue until about 2001, teo years after the car ended production. Not that there weren't issues prior to that, but isolated failures of ANY part on a car are, well, expected, but not desired.

Very true RP.... very true.

But to say the "engine is junk" is a bit harsh.

It'd be the equivalent of your fellow Yamaha owners making similar statements.

Neither of which would be accurate IMHO. Both powerplants are sound.

Instead of saying the motor is junk tell us more about what happened and what might have caused it.

RP- one major differance in the EB compared to the V8 SHO, is that its being used in several platforms. Ford also did a lot of PR to push this motor, INMHO its not in their best intrest to allow it to fail, aside from the accosional issues that unfortunatlely happen, either due to human error in building or parts suppliers issues.... especially in today times.

My 2 cents....

Yep Scott, there's a lot to be said for multiple applications to thoroughly wring out the setup.

Ford did good with the all-Yamaha V6 in the SHO, as that engine is basically a big motorcycle engine!! I have a '79 Yamaha XS-11 Special (1100CC) that has similarities to my SHOs.

Ford ran out of luck on the V8 SHO. Yes, they used the "swedged" cams in other engines (4.6, 5.4, maybe others) but supplier issues doomed them for that unique application.

I'd be interested to know how/why. And it happens. Before I bought my G35 in 2004 I hung out on the Nissan/Infiniti forums. There were a couple who posted about blown engines (one with pics). And that was the venerable Nissan VQ which is regarded as one of the best V6's. It happens - as long as it's taken care of under warranty it most likely won't be an issue.

I'll say yet again.....

Take with a grain of salt the OP's post.

Four comments in total now, each of them berating the car.

It wouldn't be a stretch to theorize he doesn't like anything about the car.

My suspicion flags are still raised.

Am I the only one to notice that the first part of his user name is c u n t y ?

Nah, I noticed it too and I was hoping it stood for c o u n t y. But I think you're right Bob. So why don't the mods take this douche bag off the forum or are they being nice and giving him the benefit of the doubt?
