I have two leaks that I'm trying to fix.

The shift linkage has a u-joint and that connects to a rod at the transmission housing. It has a boot over it at the housing. I suspect that oil is leaking there. Is there a shaft seal there and can it be changed with the transmission in place?

On the back of the oil pan there is a fitting above the drain plug that is leaking oil. It has a wire leading to it. I assume that is the oil low-level sensor. Is that correct?

Thanks for the help.

You are correct on both accounts. The shift shaft seal can be changed with the trans still in the car, but from what I understand, it's a pain.

and, typically the oil level sensor itself, not the fitting is what leaks on the pan.
