I am real close to starting my 1990 sho that I have been rebuilding for the past year. Here and there.

One thing that I need to do is to get the bad gas out of the tank.

I dont want to remove it. Is there a way I can take a battery and hook it to the fuel switch cut off and get the fuel pump life and just pump it out ?
I would disconnect the fuel filter line and just drain the fuel in to a bucket until its empty.

The only other idea i had was to fill it up with good fuel .... and buy some of the addtives that stablizes fuel .... and just mix the bad fuel with the good fuel

any suggestions ???

unhook fuel line and hotwire the fuel pump.
you can do it at the pump cutoff if you want. you can back pin the harness somewhere.
i thought on eec 4 you could pin the same connector you use to pull codes to activate the fuel pump relay. that might be another way.

How long has the gas been sitting in there?

my SHO had been sitting for over four years before I bought it, and when I finally got it to start up, she purred like she just ran the day before. The four year old gas was not bad at all. And no sta-bil or other additives were put into the tank.

the car was started in august of 2011 ..... I ran it around the block and ran fine.

Its been sitting ever since. The dealership i work for all strongly suggest with the amount of money and time spent in rebuilding this motor .... they highly advise of draining the tank. Therefore I made the decsion to get everything connected and have AAA tow it to the dealership ... let them put it on a lift and drop the tank clean it out and drain it properly. I dont disagree that it might be fine ... but dont want to risk it

If you're going to go through all that trouble, I would replace the fuel pump while the tank is down.
