No EATC and no blinking turn signals

This is the weirdest problem I have yet to run into.

I was driving the other day and when I turned on my turn signal, the EATC when out. The lights for the buttons were still lit, but the "75"just went blank. The blower stopped and when I hit any buttons, nothing happens.

Later I realized that my turn signal dont blink either. The white side marker light comes on, but no amber blinking. BUT, when I hit the 4-way flashers, the blinkers light right up and blink with no problems.

First I am thinking, its got to be a fuse...checked all fuses and they seem to be ok. I didnt find a fuse that controlled the EATC and the turn signals.

Maybe something else? Or should I start replacing the fuses until the EATC kicks on?

Before you throw fuses at it, break out a test light and test each fuse. It'll save you money and time.

You might suspect a MFS or a bad ground.

I was just going to replace the fuses that the manual calls out for the turn signals and the EATC (I have a set with various amperages)

I could see the MFS for the turn signals, but both went out at the same time. I was just wondering what could control both the turn signals and the EATC.

Look up a wiring diagram. Check AutoZone.com or PheonixSHO might have some.

Why spend money when you could diagnose it first? Spend time, save the mula for mods and bigger repairs.

Well, I found that the #5 fuse was blown and replaced it. Woohoo, everything works again...BUT

After driving to the parents house (90 miles) and am starting back home, about 20 miles in, it happens again. Turn on the left turn signal and ****! No more turn signals and no more EATC. I thought, there went the fuse again! NOPE! #5 fuse is still fine. Replace it with another, and it still isnt working.

Maybe a ground problem with the turn signals? Both times they go out when I flip the turn signal on (happens to be the left turn signal both times too).

It doesnt cost anything to pull a fuse and check to see if its blown. Thats why I did that before checking the wiring diagrams.

If it's blowing fuses, you may have an excess current draw; a short to ground.

The blown fuse might just be a function of the circuit in question. It will keep blowing if this is the case because it's a safety feature.
