Hey all, first time posting, great forum. Anyways got an 89 a few months back, just replaced fuel pump, got 1psi under where it should be @ Schrader valve (Carter pump); I have spark, haven't checked back plugs though.
So what had happened was:
Car had "bricked" on me driving down highway, electronics die and throttle useless. Cranked back up an hr later after getting
drug to house, sounds like cps I know, but wouldn't hold an idle even revving up, which led me to think fuel. wow I'm long winded, anyways so now I can't barely hear the fuel pump over a "relay" on passenger side by firewall. The car had seemed to be possessed right after it died and I was turning it over, secondaries engaging and disengage real quick but stopped after code reset. Currently have no codes. I'm having to get the car towed tomorrow cause I'm moving and have a few days to mess with it. Gonna clean the other grounds I haven't gotten to yet, and start checking wires from computer to computer. Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Could still be the Crank Position Sensor. But still having spark is a bit confusing. So it would be a sick crank sensor rather than a dead crank sensor.
Check the water pump for a leak out of the weep hole on the bottom, will need a mirror. That could explain your first dead stop followed by a restart an hour later when things dried out.

start by checking all power and grounds to the pcm - the random electrical things you mentioned suggest there is a bad connection somewhere.

the "die on the side of the road" and then start fine an hour later is typical symptom of crank sensor on its last legs.

Looks like I'm gonna have to bring her back to life proper then, 60k plus everything else I've been putting off since I bought it, an 89 @ 150k with unknown maintenance other than clutch. First SHO, just been hesitant to embrace the sickness pockets first. Guess I'm gonna need some before shots for austerity. Thanks for the timely responses.
