If any one is familiar wth replacing the fuel pump..... I just replaced mine and I didn't notice at first but I had a wire with a push on connector along side of the wire loom for the assending unit that plugs into the top of the fuel tank.
For the life of me I can't find any where to plug it into. It only is about 6" long and in the surrounding areas there is no terminal for it. All I can think of is it is extra?.......... Any one know?
thanks

If it's an "L" shaped end with a rubber boot, it plugs in right beside [to the passenger side] the big connector on that little stud that is threaded.

Edit: Make sure you didn't break that stud when removing the connector, maybe that's why you can't find anything.

hey ken,
Are you famiiar with that extra wire, I can't seem to find a place for it to plug into . Some one else said that I broke off the connector where it plugs onto but no way did I screw up the Main loom connector or any where near that.

Give me your email and I will go outside and take a picture and show you the wiring, there's no extra wiring around there unless someone tapped in some wires.

Thanks for taking the time with the Pic and all. I don't think I broke any thing off. I looked real good and didn't see any thing tht resembled where I could of plugged it in to. But it sure would help if you could send me the pic

What year is your SHO? I just took a look at my 93 and it does not have what I mentioned, I think this is the Gen 1 set up. Also, my 93 didn't have that wire coming out the harness like the 89. I'll send pics shortly, after I upload them! :thumb:

Pics sent...

I just did a search and came up with you having an 89 SHO. Seems like someone swapped tanks on your SHO with the fuel pump mounting plate [gen2 style], or just the plate alone, therefor you have no where to put the connection.

Let us know! :thumb:
