I was installing a new valve cover gasket (93 ATX) and as I was reconnecting everything to the intake manifold, I cross threaded the top bolt holding the egr to the manifold. I have a drill bit and tap to re-thread the hole, but I'm not sure how dangerous this is, and if my car even needs the egr. I was reading that the cel will come on if it's not connected, but is this the only problem? Would it be easier to just seal up the egr portion of the intake manifold, or should I repair the hole on the intake to mount the EGR. Thanks.
