EGR question

recently my (so i think) EGR has been making noise its been clicking when i acclerate. you can hear it from inside the car and its annoying. when the car is on and i unplug that hose that goes to that saucer piece i dont feel any vacuum (am i suppose to?)how can you clean the EGR or do i need a new set up?

The mushroom does not have any vacuum at idle or WOT. If you are hearing a clicking it is probably the on/off solenoid that controls the vacuum. There is also a vacuum regulator too. Both are just to the right and attached to the DPF EGR sensor. The solenoid is the first in line.

my car also makes this same clicking noise but only from 1-3900 rpm and my butterflies will not close at start up? anything to do with each other?

I meant the solenoid is doing the clicking and that is abnormal. It may be on the way out or loose or something else. It is somewhere to begin checking.
