Water, very interesting. I saw that it was riveted and forgot the plan to open it.

I put a PCV catch can on intake. I cleaned it once, it contain mostly dirty water... Probably from combustion too.

I think I have somewhat the same trouble. The car seems running lean too + crap starts.

I know my hoses going on those inlets are squeezed together. Unless a different hose with a smaller outer diameter was used, I wouldn't be able to get a clamp on there.

I also changed the DPFE (#2) this week by a 50 000km SLO one (F48E-9J460-BB). Not so easy but worth the effort.

I started it cold and I confirm that this sensor had definitely a influence on the idle. No more crap start. I didn't drive the car yet to see others changes.

I'm wondering if the revised part (F7UE-9J460-AA) could be a good investment as this one was issued the same year as the TSB (better ?)...

Edit : I still have some misfires at idle but less. The major difference is that there is no more crap starts like before.

Thanks all for the help and photos.

Welp lets just say I blocked off the egr pulled the engine light bulb out and called it a day.

I have no idea why the egr is doing this and I have no idea if its related to the p1100 that just popped up.
I went through the entire egr system several times i even played with the solenoid studied the damn thing sucking on it to understand the thing 100%. for w/e reason the ECM is way to liberal with the egr the egr also seems to be open in park which is odd.. I even got the exact dpfe orignal part number has a lower voltage as well and a brand new solenoid.

I am unable to conclude w/e or not my exhuast and intake mods have anything to do with the issue.
as it stands now with egr passing green with no codes its having the opposite effect on the car in lower rpm ranges on the medium upper rpm range the egr seems to find its comfort zone.

fuel trims at idle are very good. ive sprayed starting fluid evrywhere just to triple check for vac leaks all the gaskets are new on the surge tank and the lowest gaskets are brand new as well. All I can think of is that it leans out when accelerating theres just to many misfires in the 1/4 throttle range its misfiring going 30-40 cruising speed. EGR vac line taken off? No misfires at alll ever. I just think the car is too old and the egr system causing more pollution and less efficiency. I dont have original cats anymore they are federal emssions i have a magnaflow glasspack as a resonator and no mufflers i also have a cold air intake with a heat extracting hood. The car has done this for years its just that now the issue is worse.

Very strange. So, if you have no problem with the ERG vac line off, well, considering you do not at this point have a functional emissions control system anyway with the other changes, maybe just leave it off? Do you need to pass an emissions inspection to get licensed? If not, might be its best just to go for the easy fix.

This is where you may need a way to see the crank and/or spark ignition in real time to figure out what's going on.

Do you have a new MAF? Have you had the injectors tested?

You mean to determine what the actual timing is doing or what the computer is doing with the timing?

when it comes to the maf im not seeing anything thats out of the ordinary at idle the voltage stays under 1v and the grams per second is normal. One other very odd thing i noticed is with the egr off the p1100 isnt showing up.
my spark advance at idle is 2 degrees. o2's switching lean/rich normally.
the injectors are fairly new.

small update been running with an egr delete tune. I noticed even with the tune and the egr not being used at all the car still has start/stall attitude. if i have vacuum cap the back of the surge tank the issue is gone. it can't be leaking in those vacuum lines i sprayed them with starting fluid alot. somehow vacuum is pulling open something. im stumped on this one. which means now that I remember if i leave the vac line in on the surge tank but just unplug the vac line on the egr valve the issue will dissapear
