So, I'm planning to do a little maintenance soon, and figure it's time to pull my codes.

I followed the procedure listed at shotimes and here were my results:

KOEO test completed successfully - threw one code '542' - "Fuel pump secondary circuit failure." - nothing to worry about there, really. At least, nothing that affects the performance of the engine itself.

When the time came to run the KOER test, however, all goes well until I get to the goose-test. I get my single blink, I do the stuff I'm told to do... then nothing. I was under the impression that if the test completes and I have no codes it flashes me '111', and if I did the goose test incorrectly, it flashes a '77'. But there is no 'do nothing' case that I know of. Was I just being impatient (not likely, I waited several minutes for a response), or did I REALLY screw up the goose test? I tried to do the test twice, both with identical results.

Any thoughts?

before my atx to mtx swap i used to be able to run that test but now mine dont even flash to tell me to go... i tried to just do it anyways but nothing..

i think it might be because my fuel pump is bad and it dont know what to do.. im not sure about your problem but i would imagine if something else causes a problem it might not finish the test..

the Fuel pump secondary circuit failure just means the car has stalled before.. unhook the battery for a few to clean the comp and try again.

Good to know... will do all that disconnectin' next time before I run the car. Should I recalibrate idle before running diagnostic?

(Oh, and by the way, I found instructions on SHOPhoenixProject that offered a slightly different sequence of steps; gonna try that and see where it gets me)

shotimes.com and shophoenixproject.com both have ways to do it that worked fine for me before.

shouldnt need to do anything to idle on the car it will reset everything once its unhooked for a few
