ECT sensor location?

does anybody know where the engine coolant temperature sensor is? i got this code while a engine check:


117: ECT sensor is/was low or grounded./ ECT below minimum voltage/254 degre F.

Around
Look around the area of the t-stat housing. There are two, one which is a 2 wire that sends a signal to the computer and which i believe is further back of the two, and a one wire which sends a signal to the factory temp gauge.

i am not very familiar with the T-stat thing is there any place i could get a picture of that it would make a world of difference.

All you have to do is follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. The piece that the hose clamps down on to is the thermostat housing. If you already have the sensor bought, then you kind of know what it looks like so you have an idea of what your looking for.

i thought i had a picture of it somewhere on my computer but i cant find it. Sorry. But the best i can tell you is what i just did, just follow the hose and you should be able to find it. :thumb:

The ECT temp sender is on the lower water outlet. Below the TB. Its hard to notice. A 1" deep socket will remove it for you. It has 2 wires. Make sure you get a brass replacement.
