Can someone describe their ECT to me? I bought one from Autozone to change when I did my t-stat, but when I found the sensor it looked nothing like the one on the engine. Mine has one threaded pin which the connector slides over and a flat pick-up. The one that I got from Autozone has larger threads, a pointed pick-up and a two-pin connector. Or am I looking at the wrong sensor?

There are three coolant temperature sensors:

- ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature), which goes to the PCM. Rightward of the thermostat housing (towards the firewall) and a little bit around the corner. 2-pin connector. I used an Autozone Wells SU-201.

- "idiot gauge" == "dashboard temperature sensor" == (Autozone-speak) "temperature switch". No connection to the computer. Left of the thermostat housing. 1-pin connector. I used an Autozone Wells TU-25.

- EVTM (climate-control) coolant temperature sensor, which the EVTM uses to lock out the heater mode until the coolant warms up. I haven't replaced it yet.
