I ran the EATC self test after "fixing" my blend door. I thought the actuator was gone, but the female shaft on the blend door was cracked. When I glued it and reinstalled the dash I don't get the whining clicking sound from the actuator which I then assumed was the male shaft of the actuator slipping in the female portion on the blend door.

But ...

.. before I "fixed" the problem I got 888 for the codes which meant everything was OK, even though the whirring and clicking sound was there.

... now I get a code of 02 (!), but there is no clicking sound behind the EATC!! :bonk: :headbang:

Does the code 02 specifically mean there is a problem with the ACTUATOR itself or can this code indicate as well that something else is wrong.

I know I have a vacuum leak since air only blowsfrom the defroster.

Would this also trip the 02 error code?

My EATC was making a thumping sound and the code I got from the EATC self-test was 02. Classic symptoms of a failed BDA. However, once inside the dash, I found that my SHO's blend door was stuck in a single position because of a small bic lighter that had wedged in the door. So it turns out the BDA was OK, and the stuck door was the problem. The slot area on the top of the door where the BDA stem plugs in had cracked, and apparantly the BDA stem was just clicking around inside, without moving the door at all.
