I am a fairly new Gen2 owner, have had lots of Gen3's for quite some time..

What is the process to remove the EATC as its cracked and ugly... I have a hard button from a newer year... Where do I start? Is there a step-by-step tuturial , with pictures, I can follow.. Thanks

search "remove dash bezel" and you should find instructions for removing, er, the dash bezel. After that, it's just some T-20 (I think) screws and it's out. Pretty simple, really, once you get the bezel off. That's the hard part, and it's not really even that hard. Just be careful; that plastic gets brittle after 13-16 years.

1. Take off the metal cover under the steering wheel - 4 T30 bolts
2. Remove the dash bezel:
- remove the two T20 screws under steering wheel
- remove the two T20 screws above the instrument cluster
- pull the cluster straight out (I've found it's easiest to start with the right side
Unplug - clock, redundant radio controls, fog light switch, defrost, headlamps (depending on how much you need to pull out the bezel to get access
3. unscrew the 4 t20 screws holding in the EATC
4. remove the two electrical connectors on the eatc by depressing the clips and pulling
5. unbolt the thin bolts holding on the hoses and work the rubber hose connector off the eatc.
6. behold the EATC in your hand, and make sure the new one is from a 1995 Taurus as no others will work without modification.
