Its probably your BCM (blower control motor?)
If you do a search for BCM, you will get lots of results. I had the same symtoms as you, found one at a junk yard (you can get one out of any car with an eatc like yours aka sable, taurus, lincoln, etc) for like 10 bucks. Easy to replace. Its under the glove box...if you want more info, just search for it. :D

Yep. It's the BCM, allright. What happens is that it sit's behingd the glove box in the A/c-heat vent, condensation builds up an Viola! Your fan is on all the time.

How long has it been mis-behaving? Mine went out the other day due to heavy rains. It dried out a day or two later, and is fine now.

I'm having a similar problem in that the fan either blows on full blast or nothing at all. The previous owner told me that it might be the blower control module, but I was thinking that the fan switch on the climate control is bad.

I too have an EATC unit which whether in Auto or Manual is on Full all the time. This wouldn't be all that bad except its a bit loud. I can however turn the unit off completely but then it gets hot (in the summer) or cold (in the winter) quite quickly.
Any ideas on what exactly to replace.
Thanks. Michael

Thanks for giving me the proper name so I can begin the hunt. Is this variable blower control module part of the EATC or can it be replaced by itself? Where is it located? Thanks.

How hard is the BCM to change? Is it easily reached once the glovebox is removed?

Not sure about Gen II's here, but in a Gen 1 you don't even have to remove the glove box. If you look directly under the glove box, pull down the plastic panel and you'll see it. It has a white label on it, has 2 hoses attached to it and 2 screws holding it in place. It has an electrical connector with orange/red, orange/tan, orange/black and black wires.

BTW, ditto the responses on the cause of your problem. That's exactly what my car was doing, however I'd also suggest running the self test on your climate control after you replace the BCM to rule out a blend door problem as well.

Location, again in a Gen I:

I just replaced mine yesterday (Gen II) and it was very easy. I had to bring down the glove box to disconnect everything. But, as of removal and visual detection of the module I found it easier to pull down the black panel under the dash and you are staring right in the face of it. Their is a sticker on the front that talks about an integrated high speed function or something of that nature. It is simple to replace but for a new one they are not cheap;*6 with my discount I got it for 150, they retail for 200.

A bit OT anyone have any tips on switching a whole gauge cluster that I have from my old SHO? The one in my current SHO is pretty dim(pic below):

Edien, you might find it easier to replace the illumination bulbs inside the cluster rather than replacing the whole cluster. I have one that is out under the temperature part of mine and it looks much like yours, very dark. The other bulbs may just have dust over them causing it to be dim.

Where can I buy the bulbs, how much, and how hard are they to replace?
