Well, I just got a really nice slicer rim with a practically new Eagle GA tire mounted on it. It's a 94V series. I think it's obsolete, cause Tirerack shows only a a 94T version and it's on backorder. So I did some searching around and found this site:

Anyone heard of this? Or know somewhere else to find the GA's? I know these tires aren't a favorite but I got the one so cheap that I could have a set for another $300, and that appeals to the tightwad in me.

If you are open to suggestions , have a look on tirerack.com , the Khumos are tires that people love and they are pretty cheap too.

Eagle GA's arent anything special. Trust me. but for an all season tire they are good. Performance wise there is much to be desired.

The fact alone that you have a V rated version really makes me question the production date. they havent made a V rated version in a while. The ones we stock are all T rated. and T is only 118, wheras V is 149

Yes, this is an old tire (with hardly any miles on it) mounted on a rim that sat in somebody's garage for years. I bought it cheap, and I'd like to buy 3 more to match. Could I use the T rated ones for the other 3?

I'd be a little leary of a tire that has sat for years, but if it is not dry-rotted then it should be ok. I don't think it will make much difference in the way the car drives if the treads are somewhat similar. Just keep the matched pair on the front.

Well.. I had them on my car's a few times. They are great new, but get loud fast, and tend to burn thru the first 1/2 of the tread pretty quick. Did good in the rain and snow.

lol I was thinking that too after I typed that. Best rated tire you can get, under the Yoko Avid's I think they were. On a skid pad, dry, wet, and track lap times. There was a third too and I can't remember the tire now. Maybe it'll dawn on me. THere was an article on tire rack.com about the 'super mega pimpin, v-speed rated tires' section.

But, also in hindsight, you kinda get what you pay for with tires, and brakes I think.
