Very possible. Are these what showed up BEFORE returning to stock, or AFTER?

The C0051 and U0415 are most likely related. Have you curbed it, been in an accident, or done anything that would have effected the alignment (is the steering wheel off center).

I've never done any of those things to it. It had a clear Carfax when I bought it, but we all know how accurate that is. It tracks nice and straight and the steering wheel is centered. I've mentioned the issue to the service technician and it goes in for service on Wednesday. I guess I should mention the codes since I had to clear them to flash the computer.

One thing that helps when diagnosing a D.T.C. the DTC is half the story. Knowing what module (s) it sets it is another.

Multiple modules can set the same dtc.

The invalid data DTC I bet is set in the power steering control module. It sets when the ABS module sends it crap data in regards to steering wheel angle, wheel speed or Yaw rate. That doesn't make sense I bet. Ok so you've played the came telephone before right? The first person tells another a word. Lest say " right 10 degrees" that information get told to the next person who realms it to the next person and so on till it gets to the end of the line. That person at the end got a letter saying right 5 degrees.Say you only turned the wheel 5 degrees. That second person in line has to trust the first. Very similar is invalid data dtcs. The module that recieved a direct input has to trust that data. That module then sends it out over the network to other modules. Those receiving movies may also get other data from other modes to validate data. So comming full circle the receiving module that set the u0415 is saying the sending module is lying. To add to this, the sending module may recieved the direct input as a networked message. For this dtc the power steering control module or the steering column control module can send the abs module steering wheel angle data depending if you have active park assist or not. That data is then sent back to the pscm module. The u0415 can also set eroniously.

Being that the c0051 is set for a steering wheel sensor fault this is were I would go to diagnose this first. PID data is going to help diagnose this one. It may be that you have a bad steering wheel rotation sensor but PID data will have to be monitored to see what is lying to the abs module.

This dtc would affect stability control abs etcetera.

The lamp code has got me perplexed. Why did you install running boards and have someone program the BCM? Lol just kidding.

^^^Pretty smart cookie. Agreed, if you don't have any obvious signs of alignment issues they'll just have to look at the data and see what's skewed. Ford IDS can look at pids on all the effected modules and Ford loves what's termed as Pin Point tests that usually works well to determine the failure as long as it's a hard fault....intermittents and chaffed wires are another story but that's what they're being paid to sort out.

Betcha it has an open hotline contact
Ok, so now I know what that means, and no, it does not. They are leaning towards a defective powering steering rack, but still haven't isolated that as the cause. I'm getting a bit frustrated with this mess. Driving my F150 is not much fun.

It very well could be the rack.

I have a fusion with a 1.5 liter. I would kinda be happy with a 150.

Wanna trade loaners? :)

Well, I own the F150, so no :) It's just so heavy and slow compared to the SHO.

These have electric racks, right? Any idea what this replacement, parts and labor, would cost?

Yes they are EPAS. Electric power assist steering.

They cost a few shiny pennies. (Read I don't know what they cost or labor rates)

They tipicly come with inner tie rods and not outers. Not sure the condition of the car but it's getting an alignment afterwards. You can pay them to transfer the old parts and align it or add two new parts and align it.

But it may not need a rack

Or, another 3-4 days. Ford says ABS Module is bad/failing. New module should arrive Wednesday. ~$800 when it's installed.
