Hit a deeper than expected puddle with my 95 SHO. Didn't seem to faze it but then about 5 minutes later it started missing, like occationally dropping a cylinder at partial throttle. Now if I lug it, the symptoms get worse and you can hear it backfiring through the intake. Think it's as simple as getting some water in one of the rear plug wells? Never had this before and I've owned the car for 7 years.

How deep was this puddle?!?!?! :oogle:

If it was splashing around in there, it is possible. I guess hitting the whole engine with an air compressor and checking the wells isn't a bad idea- worst thing that could happen is your engine gets a clean up... :thumb:

Mine does that from time to time when it gets wet. There is water in a connector or in a plug well.

Man this is just a pain in the azz. It idles on 5 cylinders. The front plug wells were bone dry and I suspect the rear ones will be too. Got to be a connector. I'm hoping it airs out. ****** me off cause the car is running the best it's ever been. Did the 60K service a year ago, the AC blows cold, replace the heater blend door...now this pops up. Ahh, the life of a SHO owner. :nut:

Blew out some connectors then drove it. Was still acting up when I lugged the engine. So I just took it on the highway for about 30 minutes. Lo and behold the problem went away. Must have heated it up enough to dry out whatever was wet. Runs perfect again.
