I recently picked up a clean, low miles 97 SHO which is in need of a new engine. Has anyone done this swap at their home garage? Can it be pulled out the top without destroying anything? I have about every tool imaginable however I do not have a vehicle lift. Tips, tricks and advice welcome.

Yes it can be done from the top I have done it like 6 times from the top but you have to remove more stuff than if you do it from the bottom.
The general concensus is that is easier from the bottom. :)

From the bottom it is! The replacement engine should be here in about a week. Cams will be welded prior to install. Hopefully if all goes well i'll have this car back on the road by month end.
