My driver's side fog lamp explodes inside the housing. Anybody else have this problem? I just replaced the bulb two weeks ago and now it's toast again! Any ideas?

IF it's still the factory fog light housing I'm gonna have to say the housing is no good. If you take the assembly out you'll probably see hairline cracks in the top and/or bottom of the plastic housing behind the front lens (I'm talking about the black part). All it takes is a small crack in it to let enough water ro moisture in there to **** the bulb once it's powered up. My suggestion: replace both side with a new set from Pep Boys, the are the Blazer fog lights and run about 30 bucks for the pair.

I remember my 93 did the same thing. I caulked all around the housing to keep water from getting in. It worked.

I tried calk on my ATX fogs. It held for a little while but then cracked again in a different spot. IMO, there's no sense in fixing old crusty foglights if a comparable brand new pair costs only 30 bucks. Chances are the stock lenses are all foggy and look like crap. Jsut suck up the 30 beans and get some new ones.

Yeah, My pass. side blew at a car drive in car wash. Once inspected the housing had a crack on the top, let water in. I took out the light, blew out as much of the broken bulb, let it dry and used black rtv to seal the crack.

That was over a year ago, and I've had no problems since. If fact I was able to clean the inside of the lens at the same time which really helped the clarity. Did the same on the drivers side.

I did the same using a silicone sealer. The sealer was clear and was designed to withstand extreme temperatures. The fog lights held together worked perfectly for the past four years right up until I got into and accident and shattered both lamps three months ago. squint
