I bogg when I want to downshift and get on it. I made myself look like a tard when I first got the car trying to have some fun with a 6.0 GTO. When I downshifted I bogged out bad.

Is that normal for these cars?

no,its not.
that car has several issues that has had a few of us SHO folks down here stumped.
if its anything like it was when i drove it,it has a slight miss and is by far the slowest SHO ive even even sat in.

Its pretty fast from a dead stop first through third. 4th and 5th are a little slow.

I've pretty much concluded all of the problems on this car except for this one and why it stalls out at rapid RPM drop when there is plenty of oil.

Your signature indicates open headers. Maybe your modified exhaust system is responsible for the loss in low end torque?

Uhm.. wasn't my mod. Doesn't unrestrictive exhaust give you more torque?

Just this part of your post would have made perfect sense.

:laugh_ti::evilgrin:

sorry, couldn't resist!

LoL... They run like 13's... right? Im not saying I'd take him, I was just curious...

When I ran open Y-pipe with cats I could feel the loss in torque. not saying that's your problem but you never know.

Back pressure helps tq, free exhaust helps HP. Having to free flowing of an exhaust can sometimes actually be bad. I forget what it is called but it is when part of the intake charge gets sucked right out the exhaust because it flows so well, I forget what it was I read in it a book Ted B wrote. Also having a free flowing exhaust on a car not built for it can burn exhaust valves;)

your problem sounds like it could also be tps related...
i dont know how its got people stumped... simple test and replace everything till its fixed.

ive just had my fair share of really weird tps problems... check the sensor and replace...
also more advice on what else to do with the tps but ill let you find that on your own

Could possibly be EGR valve or sensor!
I had the same prob. on my neon! replaced both the EGR valve/sensor and it runs great!

you really should follow the advice that Chris gave you, about replacing the engine/underhood harness'
some baffon has rigged that thing up and thats the best way to get it back to normal.

Open headers too on that car now... The origional problem is in that harness...so until this gets replaced you will keep having issues and possibly fry another ECU or IRCM. I'd hook that exhaust back up so you don't get any excessive DB tickets or go deaf.

Im doing exhaust very soon.

What harness are you talking about?

It needs a new IRCM harness... I have it, just need to install it... and it needs a new DIS harness, just waiting to find one. I've been PMing people about it. Other then the hand wired ECU harness, what are you talking about?

the IRCM harness is the "underhood harness" and the DIS harness is the "engine harness"
replace these and im thinking you'll be golden.
if your running open headers how are your o2's mounted?

Okay, there are 3 harnesses under the hood:
1: The engine harness....connects to DIS, injectors, CPS, O2, ect... This harness stays on the engine when you pull an engine.
2: The ECU/IRCM harness....obviously connects to the computer and relay control module as well as all the other various sensors under the hood. This also mates into the body harness under the hood.
3: The body harness....feeds the underhood fuse box and goes into the car. Runs the headlights, blinkers, airbags, ect.

I have a couple spare engine harnesses right now... Did you PM any of the FL guys? Brian has one as well...

I have PMed members for other parts that I need, but not for this.

So does the engine harness include everything? It is a hard process? Wouldn't think so... but I dont really know much about SHOs yet.
