Looking for speakers to put in the doors. I would like to stick with Either Alpine or Kenwood. How big are they? They are rectangle(?) speakers right, as opposed to circular, right?

I may switch some things around, but I don't have an amp to run anything else. I have a 2 channel and a mono amp. Kenwood/Alpine respectively.

Ultimately I would like to get my system to the point of having all Alpine products. That is if I keep my deck. If I don't keep my deck I may go with Kenwood throughout the car.

the factory front door speakers are 5 1/4, after market 6 1/2 will work, but the depth can be a problem. check the crutchfield web site and they will give you a full list of what fits.

The JBL factory fronts are 6 1/2. And yes, depth can be a problem. Probably will be. You need to get a speaker with a shallow magnet. I belive the max depth is 2 5/8.

Infinity Kappa 6 1/2's up front.
Infinity Kappa 5X7/6X8's in the back.
Polk MOMO 12" in the trunk.
Alpine amps.

Sounds excellent

Polk and Infinity have good quality for the price. You will never notice a difference between a 150 dollar pair and a 300 dollar pair of speakers in your car, it's a bad environment for good sound.

I totally disagree. You can definitely notice a difference between $300 speakers and $150. I will agree they will never sound as good as the soundboard in the stereo shop, but you can definitely notice a difference. I went from a set of $275 a/d/s/ AL5's to their then top-of-the-line $600 325is, there was a huge difference. The same can be said for a jump from a $180 Infinity Reference speakers to my a/d/s/ AL5's.

So 2.6 is going to be too deep for the doors then.....damn. I wanted to do MB Quart all around that sucks or is that a Meteric measure on MB's site I know they are German just want to make sure, glad I didn't buy them already.
