Hey everybody, a while ago I made apost about the door ajar light staying on in my '89. It hasn't gone off after a week, so I've begun to think that I'll have to take the door panel off again and play with the switch. I'm just making sure, is the switch connected to a grey, 2-prong plug? That's hanging loose in my door right now. And this isn't the little round spring loaded button on the side of the car pressed against the door that triggers the lights, right? I just need some advice from anyone who knows about fixing the switch, and how to do it. BTW, I did put a lot of lubricant (WD40-ish stuff) into the door latch. Thanks for any help!

Roll down each window and spread the window moulding open above the latch, you should see a connector with a single black and orange wire (although it might be covered with grime) connected to the top of the latch. If you have a loooooooong pair of needle-nose you should be able to pop off the connectors one at a time to see which door is firing the light (although as before I'd recommend starting with the driver's door).

In any Ford where I've seen this problem, this switch fires by grounding, so an unconnected connector WOULDN'T be likely to fire the light unless it's grounded to something.
