Hey for all those people out there with this problem- where the door ajar light stays on constantly...well i had this same problem and i had to fix it...so yesterday i attempted the task and became very successful...heres how it works

First all the doors have a latch...
Second on each latch theres a sensor...
Results in 4 sensors for each door opening and closing to turn the light on...
Third how the light goes on...when the latch makes contact it grounds that perticular door which completes the circuit and illuminates the ajar light...when one latch stays grounded it will in fact keep the light on all the time-

Now where is this latch located- well its located by every door latch right behind it- ull know u have it when u follow the BLK/Orange Wire...when u take the door panel off ull see 3 wires- 2 pink ones for the door actuator(doorlocks)and than this blk/orange wire leading to the latch- thats the one u want...theres 2 things u can do

1. snip the wire to eliminate that door
2. replace latch

My solution was i just snipped the wire and it was my drivers door- so i still have door ajar light for ther other 3 doors but not mine now- which dont bother me....

I pinpointed it by checking the rear doors first..and unhooking the wire from the latch an dif the light didnt go out u knwo its not that door...once the light goes off u got the right door...if ne of u have ne question u can email me or reply to this ill help ya out...

That's not a solution. That's a workaround. You still didn't solve the real problem.

how do u figure- the solution is u find the door thats triggering the light- once u do that- u either replace the latch with the sensor on it or just snip the wire- how is that not the solution..humm

Well, once you have found the door causing the ajar light, replacing the latch would be a solution. What you did works, but now you have no Door Ajar light, it is more of a quick fix. My light stays on, but it has for so long, that I don't even notice it anymore.

Another note, you'll probably need an impact driver using either a posi-driver bit (you ski freaks that tune your own skis should know what I'm talking about) or a #3 phillips bit. Just taking a screwdriver to them will do nothing but strip them!

humm...i just luv it how i go through the trouble of fixing my door ajar light and being so nice to post on this forum of the remedy and a tip of how to fix it but its always the mr know it alls to bash u down and tell me what i did and didnt do and stick there face in stuff they shouldnt- i dont want to be a **** or nething but y should i write on a forum and be bashed on what i did when first i could have never wrote it- and some might need that advice to fix something- i mean dont we all know the fix to nething is to replace what is broken and we all know the latch would be the culprit and so i went and found out a way to kinda fix it without doing that so my light would be off and work for 3 other doors instead of not working at all and annoying me with it being on all the time... this forum is not what it suppose to be nemore- we all need to stop harping on everyone and hear what people have to say... y bash nething in here all it does is cause trouble- i only wrote this cuz i knew alot fo people wonderd about where r the sensors located and how to fix it- so i said hey ill take the job on and post some advice- if u dont like it....than dont reply if u dont want to do it or say that my way isnt the correct way or not the complete fix- obviously if u put 2 and 2 together and read what i wrote u would definitely see that my way is the solution- i origianlly said u can 2 things to fix this problem- REPLACE LATCH.....and second SNIP A WIRE...they both fix the problem- one of them fixes it the right way and the other one fixes it temp and easier...but i guess some people r just so smart and dont need ne of my info- so in that respect i will reply to people post that i know will need the info and not broadcast it to all...

Whatever.

The only way to solve a problem is to solve it. You disabled a portion of the system rather than repair the non-functional switch.

I know I don't know it all, but I am willing to learn what I don't yet know, damn it.

Scott.. he told everyone A: the solution and B: the work around. because he didnt perform the solution, and instead did the work around.

He told people how to do your beloved solution.
