Hi
I just bought a 2015 SHO/PP and only have around 600 miles on it. I'm still breaking it in with varying the load and RPMs. According to the car, I'm getting around 14.5 MPGs. Almost all around town. Will it improve somewhat with added miles? I think I'm going with the LMS tune this next week and I've heard it improves the mileage somewhat , if you keep your foot out of it. And does the tune help with the dead spot around 1800 RPMs ?

Thanks,Tony

It should improve, but if the driving is primarily around town, it is important to feather the gas pedal when possible. Extended idling will also hurt mpg. 16+ will most likely be the best number you get, remember to computer manually at each fillup. Premium fuel will also help a little. A tune can improve fuel economy, believe it or not!

my experience is that gas mileage will improve until about 10k miles. these newer engines are so tight, it takes a long time to get "broken in"

At 20k, I'm seeing 19-20mpg in the city if I behave. If not, 17mpg. Highway is almost always at 26mpg (75mph).

will 2nd that running close to the same numbers on mine, it helps to use the instance gas mileage left side of cluster shows you when your on the gas and when your not, also use 91 or 93 runs so much better

Hi Tony, Mine has improved BUNCHES since new. What started out at around 17 MPG combined has turned into around 22-23 combined city/hwy. I have nearly 3500 miles on it from roughly 7 weeks ownership. Just a suggestion but take a day and just -drive- it. My wife and I would just get in the car and put 100-200 miles on it, just for grins. Max Hwy MPG has been 25.9 but I only saw that once. When it was new I tried to vary the engine RPMs but generally drove it like it'll be driven in the future mostly. I can't answer to the LMS tune but will be watching the responses....

I've never used anything other than 93 octane. Not sure what the dealer put in on the first fill-up. I keep all receipts. Nothing other than Top Tier brands of gasoline.

Top Tier, and some stations are fishy... running BP out of a particular place here my mileage will go from 17 to 13 to 14.

Definitely do not be afraid to experiment; try different gas stations. Should be a high-volume station for sure though, minimizes the risk of their tanks being plagued with rust and other contaminants that make their way into your gas tank.

Took mine on its first highway trip, a round trip that drained the tank. Drove normal (for me) cruising at 80-ish, no stop and go, no city driving - just pure highway cruise. Filled with 93. Got 23 mpg. Have to admit I was pretty unimpressed. Oh well. Gotta pay to play :)

Around town on my daily commute with horrible stop and go I get 16mpg but I expect that.

That's pretty normal. If you want to see upper 20's you will need to stick to 60-70 mph. Not worth it in my opinion. LOL!

Considering the weight, horsepower and aerodynamics, it's not bad at all.

At least it's better than my AWD non-Ecoboost Flex. You want to talk about gas guzzler, especially cooking at 80 everyone on board......
