I just bought the sony slave CD player from my friend and also bought the wiring harness from ebay. It plugs from the CD player to the head unit and also has a negative for each unit. I plugged it in and nothing happened, is there another wire or is this a defective CD player? Thanks

yes there shoud also be power and ground and whatever else coming from the vehicle like there is the plug then it splits it into two plugs, one for cd and one for radio.

There is still one more slot for a wiring harness to be plugged into, only one wiring harness is in right now and thats coinnected to the CD player. Is the power plug supposed to be already in the car or is that something that I have to purchase? If so where would I get one?

There are 2 harness required. If your car did not come with a slave CD player you have to add both harness for it to work.

I added the slave unit to my Mom's SHO and we had to get 3 wires. The one for ground, the CD unit to HU and the one that splits the power for both units. I believe that they were originally taped together...

Just to let you know I went throught the same problem. There is a send and return to the CD player and unless it is hooked up to the stock deck it won't work. I took my car to "Best Buy" and had them splice some wires and hook it up right since I couldn't figure it out. It took about an hour but my radio harness had a short so they had to fix that too.
