Greetings all!

I first posted some months ago; I was looking at a demo model 2010 SHO at the local dealer here in St Louis.

I didn't do the deal then; I'm having some problems letting go of my '07 Grand Prix GXP. Recently though, I've accepted a new job offer and it looks like I might be making a few better $$...and have a real need for a V-6 and the AWD, as the new job will be "emergency-essential" and require me to be out at all hours and weather conditions. Snow in STL is a real sunuvagun...while the GXP has been able to handle it, there's no confidence like knowing that I've got all the wheels turning, as opposed to just the front two.

Anyway...that demo SHO is still at the dealership! Just looked at it again today, which brings me around to the CARFAX question. I can't help but wonder exactly why a well-optioned car (Spec 402A, Triple Platinum White paint) would still be sitting at the dealer roughly 6 mos. after it got there. Mileage according to the dealer listing is 5901, VIN is 1FAHP2KT8AG111590.

If anybody can run this for me, I'd appreciate. Here's the link to the listing, for anyone who's interested:

:thankyou:

While I don't have a Carfax account my suggestion would be to ask the dealer to provide you with one. If they refuse or give you the run-around that to me would be a sign that they are hiding something about this cars history. If they do provide it, then your question is answered. Just my 2cents

I've noticed that the price is in the ball park with others I've seen, but, I bought mine A-plan BRAND NEW for less than that.......(Mine has all the options except Adaptive cruise and performance package, INCLUDING $500 for he tri-coat white, NAV and 20's!)

Ty SHOclass...reply PM sent.

I'm gonna put Sunset to the test STL SHO...we'll see how honest they are. The CARFAX from SHOclass doesn't seem to indicate any problems, which only leaves me more mystified. Maybe it's just the stigma of being a "demo" vehicle...nobody wants a dealer's "sloppy seconds"...

Purchasing a demo is one of the best ways to buy a vehicle IMO.
A demo just means that some employee usually a manager of some sort drove the vehicle for a couple of months back and forth from work and sometimes on a little trip. The employee must relieve the vehicle before it hits 6,000 miles. If the vehicle has over 6,000 miles on it, it now must be sold as a "used car". The benefit to the customer is:
-All rebates still apply (if any available)
-Is sold as a "new" car
-Full warranty less the current mileage
-vehicle was serviced (oil changes and all)
-vehicle leaves the lot as if it were new
-Discounts!!, the more miles on it the better for you (under 6K miles)
I have sold many of these vehicles myself and I can say that they really are a good deal.
(not to sound too much like a car salseman)

My car was a demo. Got her with 2000 miles on. One of the best cars I've ever owned. I suppose it depends on the dealership and who drove the car because sometimes test drivers beat the **** out of test drives but I think most people respect new cars. Good Luck!
