Is there any difference between a 1989 yamaha engine and a 1993 yamaha engine. Can I directly bolt the 1989 Yam. engine into my 1993 sho and still use my 1993 computer and such. Is there absolutely anything different between a 1989 engine and a 1993 engine?

I'm looking to upgrade my 1993 sho to a extremely low milage 1989 but I need to know if I have to get a new computer, or anything at all. Thanks in advance.

Is your car a manual or auto? If you have an auto then your engine is 3.2L vs 3.0L. Other then that the only differences i can think of would be smog equipment. Do oyu have to get another computer? I dunno. shrug

I think my first post could sound confusing.

Let me re-explain:

I own a 1993 MTX 3.0L sho

I am looking to buy a extremely low milage 1989 SHO 3.0L engine to replace the engine in my 1993.

Is the 1989 engine a direct bolt into my 1993 body with no extra pieces needed? Do I need to buy a 1989 computer to match the 1989 engine. Or will my 1993 computer work just fine with the 1989 engine. I hope this clears up my questions. Thanks in advance.
